Shy Bladder (Paruresis) Treatment at Toronto Hypnotherapy and Pure Hypnoanalysis
At Toronto Hypnotherapy, Shy Bladder (also known as Paruresis), is one of the most common symptoms consulted for. Shy bladder is a condition that mainly affects men and is the condition in which people find it difficult, if not impossible to urinate in front of or around others. Amongst having difficulty urinating around others, people with this condition tend to have other associated problems that may include:
Fear of being 'put on the spot'
Fear of being judged
Feelings of inferiority
General anxiety
Uncomfortable in certain social situations
All these symptoms are common elements to what is known as Social Anxiety or Social Phobia.
Everyone suffers from social anxiety to greater or lesser extent and the individual symptoms will reflect this. For example while some people can only urinate inside a stall at a public washroom, others will only be able to urinate in the privacy of their homes.
Social anxiety and shy bladder are symptoms of 'bottled up' unresolved unconscious emotions within the individual. Pure Hypnoanalysis is the very best therapy in the world at uncovering and releasing these unconscious emotions and once they are released both the social anxiety and the shy bladder are gone forever. Pure Hypnoanalysis usually takes between 6-12 sessions and utilizes your own natural therapeutic process to resolve these bottled-up unconscious emotions.
Pure Hypnoanalysis vs Traditional Hypnotherapy
Traditional Hypnotherapy (also known as suggestion therapy) is the process where the hypnotist gives suggestions to the client to overcome their particular symptom. In this case suggestions like 'you will find it easier to urinate in front of other' will be given. Suggestion therapy can work well, but it is a temporary fix and does not address the underlying root cause of the problem.
Many hypnotherapists also practice some form of regression therapy (going back to the root cause), but these techniques usually involve the therapist looking for the problem or leading the client back to where 'they' think the problem is. It is extremely rare that someone not trained in Pure Hypnoanalysis will get to the actual root of the problem. Some times the hypnotherapist will inadvertently force out a memory well before the client is ready, which is hardly therapeutic.
Confidentiality
It is understandable that many will not have talked to anyone about their shy bladder to anyone before and that is taken into high consideration. Rest assured that confidentiality is paramount and you will find my approach to be very easy going and non-judgmental. All calls and emails are to myself personally and I do not have a secretary. I will be the only one you will ever have to talk to. Please feel free to contact me at anytime to arrange a no obligation, free initial consultation to discuss your needs.
